WHAT IS A REFERRAL ASSOCIATE?

  • A Referral Associate is an independent contractor who is licensed by the state and who refers seller and buyer leads.

  • They are required to sign a independent contractor agreement with PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC.

CAN A REFERRAL ASSOCIATE LIST AND SELL PROPERTY?

  • No, a Referral Associate may not list or sell the property.  They are to refer leads to PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC.

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR REFERRAL ASSOCIATES WHEN PLACING A REFERRAL:  

The Referral Associate will call or email the Referral Coordinator to relay information about the prospective buyer(s) or seller(s). Be sure to include the following:

  • Name

  • Address

  • Full address of the property to be sold

  • Phone Numbers - Business, Home, Cell, Email Address

  • Area of Preference

  • Price Range

  • Family/Children/Pets

  • Reason for Move

  • Timeframe for Move

  • Relationship to the person being referred

WHAT IF THE REFERRAL ASSOCIATE WOULD LIKE TO REFER THEIR REFERRAL TO A SPECIFIC REFERRAL AGENT?

  • The Referral Associate may request an agent to receive their referral.  Every effort will be made to honor such request.


All referrals must be placed through PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC.

  • Depending on the location of the buyer or the seller, we may refer them to a title or mortgage affiliate after providing an affiliated business arrangement disclosure statement.

  • If you e-mail your referral, please remember to follow up with a phone call to Referral Coordinator to ensure your referral has been received.

Failure to follow the outlined procedure for placing a referral could result in:

  • A delay in payment of referral fees

  • Possible forfeiture of referral fees

  • Collection of incorrect fees

  • Inability to collect a fee

UPON RECEIPT OF REFERRAL…

  • PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC will refer the prospect to either a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty Agent, an outside broker, or the requested agent’s broker.

  • PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC will notify the Referral Associate of placement via email.

  • PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC will diligently pursue the progress of the referral through updates and relay all information to the Referral Associate via email.

  • A referral may be rejected for any of the following reasons:

       - Prior contact by the broker
       - Prior referral of the individual(s)
       - Any other reason as determined by PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC at its sole
         discretion, but you will be contacted prior to any decision.​

PLEASE NOTE: Should a referred party be associated with relocation assistance or a personal
enrichment program where a referral fee is required, the referral may be rejected, and a fee will not be
collected by PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC, a
nd the referral agent will not be paid.

WHAT WILL THE AGENT OR OUTSIDE BROKER DO WITH THE REFERRAL ONCE RECEIVED?

  • Contact the prospect promptly.

  • Attempt to obtain the listing or a showing appointment, as applicable.

  • Notify PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC of results.

  • Make frequent updates, including pending & closed details, to PenFed Realty Referral Company, LLC and you will be updated throughout the transaction.

RESOURCES FOR YOU

  • If you were previously affiliated with a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty office, someone in that office will be contacting you to reconnect and to help you maximize your referral income.

  • Periodically, we send out e-cards or electronic mailings which offer resources for finding new referrals, as well as other helpful information.

  • We will remind you that your $99 annual fee will be waived with one settled referral in the previous fiscal year.

  • We will call you occasionally just to touch base and check in with you for any questions or concerns you may have.

  • We will encourage you to recruit your friends and family members to join either PenFed Realty Referral Company or Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty. By doing so, you may earn bonuses when one of their referrals or transactions settles.
